Problem

Today's airport passengers face a myriad of choices at every step of their journey—from finding parking to navigating security checkpoints and choosing how to spend their time before boarding.

Each of these interaction points represents an opportunity to craft a tailored experience that not only meets the needs of travelers but also generates additional revenue for the airport.

Design Process

Over four weeks, we conducted in-depth research on construction challenges, followed by six weeks focused on creating innovative, tech-driven solutions. In the final ten weeks, we developed and rigorously tested the Argus app and Smart AR visor, aimed at enhancing communication, hazard detection, and safety on job sites.



Solution

Designed a white label application with connected data infrastructure to facilitate comprehensive travel planning and transactions, tailored for use by LAX Airport initially, with potential expansion to other airports.

This application revolutionizes an end to end traveler experience by integrating various services through APIs, ensuring seamless data exchange for enhanced user satisfaction.

Research

Conducted secondary research along with primary research methods like ethnography, cultural probes, and user interviews, engaging both the public and industry professionals within the aviation sector to gather comprehensive insights.

Affinity Mapping

Analyzed 1600+ insights from the research to identify key pain points and formulate "How Might We" (HMW) questions to drive solution-focused design.

Archetypes

After conducting extensive research and affinity mapping, we identified key archetypes and developed detailed personas to accurately represent user needs and behaviors.

Ideation and Concept Development

After defining the pain points and crafting HMWs, we conducted ideation sessions to explore various potential solutions and features for our application.
